About Jessica Laurén
 
My spectra is a free movement between illustration, design and animation during more than 20 years.
Though I have done a lot of commissioned work I have had opportunities to develop a lot of different styles, from plain drawings to photo- and filmcollage.
Sometimes my artwork has started as a "pitch gone bad": Even though I didn't get the job I was pitching for, I still liked my keyframes and continued to develop them to become my own pieces of art.
I have had several exhibitions, mostly around the area of Stockholm, Sweden.
 
Awards, scholarships etc:
2018 - 2021 - among 30 festival awards for my animated short film "To Garbo and Lenin" 
2013 - Scholarship, Författarfonden (Swedish Author Fund)
2012 - BUFF:s och Sydsvenskans stora filmpris (The great film award by BUFF and Sydsvenskan)
          for the “Who?”-films, together with Stina Wirsén.
2011 - Nominated to SVT Kulturnyheterna's alternative Golden bug for the "Who?"-films.
2010 - Nominated to The Annecy Cristal for “Who’s bleeding?”
2010 - “Premio Speciale categoria Elements +3”, award for “Who’s Bleeding" Salerno    
          International Film Festival
1994 - Filmens Dags Stipendium (Scholarship, Filmens Dag) for "Water of the Sun”, short film
